If you need to send an e-mail more than a few minutes after drafting it, you run into problems that can be hard to solve. Saving the draft, remembering to send it on time, and just getting online can all be tricky, so scheduling starts to look more and more attractive. Boomerang is an add-on for Chrome and Firefox that lets users schedule their Gmail.

Enter Boomerang, a sleek Firefox and Chrome extension that permits complex scheduling of Gmail messages and more. Here's how to use it:

1. Install Boomerang.
2. Once the add-on is loaded, reload Gmail.
3. Compose a message you want to send later.
4. Click "Send later" next to the Send button at the top. You will need to authenticate, so make sure that you permit pop-ups, at least this once.
5. Select the time you want to send the message from the drop-down menu.
6. You can also set a message to be resent as a reminder (or nag). Tick the box next to "Boomerang this message..." then select how long before resending and whether or not a reply matters to you.

Boomerang allows 10 free scheduled e-mails per month and requires a subscription beyond that.

Send email automatically in Gmail

Gmail account login: You will go on vacation and cannot receive email for a few days, your email is often received some emails from contestant for a upcoming event and you want to reply them with a thank-you email for their participation but there are too many email everyday? Now you can respond them automatically with Gmail. Turn on the Vacation Responder then Gmail will send your reply to people who email you.

• For computer

1. In the top-right, click the gear .
2. Select Settings.
3. Scroll down to the Vacation responder section (stay in the “General” tab).
4. Select Vacation responder on.
5. Fill in the date range, subject, and message.
6. You can limit who can see your vacation response:
   • Check the box next to Only send a response to people in my Contacts if you don’t want everyone who emails you to know that you’re away from your mail.
   • If you use Google Apps, you’ll also see an option to only send a response to people in your domain. If you check both of these boxes, only people who are in your contacts and your domain will receive the automatic response.
7. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

• For Android Devices

1. Touch the menu .
2. Touch Settings.
3. Choose your account.
4. Touch Vacation responder.
5. Fill in the date range, subject, and message.
6. Switch OFF to ON at the top.
7. Touch Done.

• For iOS devices

1. Open the Gmail app.
2. Touch the menu .
3. Touch the gear .
4. Switch Vacation Responder from OFF to ON.
5. Choose start and end dates.
6. Fill in the subject and message.
7. Touch Save.

• For Web browser in Phone

1. Touch the menu .
2. Touch the gear .
3. Switch Vacation Responder from OFF to ON.
4. Choose start and end dates.
5. Fill in the subject and message.
6. Touch Apply.

Note: If you  have multiple accounts, make sure you’re in the right account before you touch the gear.

Your vacation responder starts at 12:00 AM on the start date and ends at 11:59 PM on the end date, unless you end it earlier.

In general, your reply is only sent once to people who email you. However, if the same person contacts you again after four days and your vacation responder is still on, Gmail will send another vacation response to remind the person that you’re away from your email. Your vacation response will start over each time you edit it, so if someone receives your initial vacation response, and then emails you again after you’ve edited the subject or body of the message, he or she will receive the edited response.

Messages classified as spam and messages addressed to a mailing list you subscribe to will not receive a vacation response.

Turn off Vacation Responder: While the vacation responder is on, you’ll see a banner across the top of your Gmail that shows the subject of your vacation response. Click the End now link in the banner to turn off the vacation responder, or click Vacation Settings to edit your response.

How to find missing messages

A thorough search of Gmail typically requires three steps:

1. Keyword search of your inbox by entering search terms into search box at top of page.

2. If not found, then opening Spam folder by finding it in left-hand panel (or entering in:spam in search box) and performing same keyword search again.

3. If not found, then opening Trash folder by finding it in left-hand panel (or entering in:trash in search box) and performing same keyword search again.

Now, steps two and three are but a click away if your search comes up empty in step one. If a message in either Spam or Trash matches your search query, you’ll see a line at the bottom of your search results:

If you click the “View messages” link, you’ll see messages that you may have accidentally trashed or got caught by Gmail’s spam filter. The messages listed are tagged to show you whether they are in the Spam or the Trash folder.

Also included in this update is help for overly general searches. If your search term is too general to return useful results, you’ll see this message at the bottom of the results:

Improve result with with search options such as sender, date, size and more.

Clicking the “search options” link will open a panel that will help you refine your search terms to narrow the results.

So, the next time you can’t find what you are looking for in Gmail, scroll down to the footer of Gmail’s search results to stay on the scent by either searching your Spam and Trash folders or narrowing your search parameters.

This update is available only when accessing Gmail on the Web. Unfortunately, it is not available on Gmail’s mobile apps.

Canned Responses - pre-write your emails

Gmail account login: Have you ever had to send an email with day by day with the content that almost the same? A daily report. The feature will help you to save and then send your common messages using a button next to the compose form named "Canned Responses". First, to enable it, you have to click in the gear icon in the right side then choose settings. In the top of settings section, let's choose "Labs" tab, then choose enable. Scrolling to the bottom of Labs tab then choose "save changes".

When you compose a email that you wany to send for many days or to send to many people, remember to leave a blank in the details that you will change it regularly, like date, name... When it's done, click the tiny arrow in the lower right corner of the compose window, choose "canned responses" (the second choice), and under the Save heading, select New Canned Response. Gmail will pop up a small box to ask you for the name of your response, just give it a name and click OK.

Then, the next time you compose a message with the same content, let's hit compose button, type your recipient's email address, the subject for the email, then choose the tiny arrow last time to see your saved canned responses by move the mouse to "Canned Responses", under insert, choose one of your saved message to insert to your compose window.

Change some details if you want then send it as always :)

Google to Adopt Stricter DMARC Policies for Gmail in 2016

Gmail Account Login: Google has announced that it will be moving Gmail to a strict DMARC policy starting in June 2016.

The idea is to thwart cybercriminals who hack into user accounts and then scrape the address books; they then use a different server to spoof messages from the hacked user to his or her own contacts. They do this for spam and fraud purposes, for phishing and to spread malware.

DMARC.org is an initiative of the Trusted Domain Project (TDP), a non-profit and tax-exempt public benefit corporation, and is supported by the following sponsors: Agari, Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA), Farsight Security, Google, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL), and ReturnPath. DMARC.org is dedicated to promoting the use of DMARC and related email authentication technologies to reduce fraudulent email, in a way that can be sustained at Internet scale.

The news follows Yahoo’s announcement that it would expand its use of DMARC to protect users of the ymail.com and rocketmail.com services by November 2, with more coverage to be added to additional domains in the coming months.

DMARC is also taking steps to address the downsides of using the specification. When Yahoo and AOL began protecting their customers from abuse, there was a small percentage of users who were negatively impacted by the change. To address these issues, several workarounds were quickly deployed by service providers and mailing lists, and two long-term solutions were submitted to the IETF for consideration. One of these, the Authenticated Received Chain (ARC), is being presented at the Messaging, Malware and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG) meeting in Atlanta. The goal is to engage the technical community in helping to refine and test the proposed solution with deployers such as Google, Microsoft and Yahoo, with an interoperability event being organized for the first quarter of 2016.

“We are pleased to be supporting the ARC protocol to help mailing list operators adapt to the need for strong authentication,” said John Rae-Grant, lead product manager for Gmail.

“More and more companies have been adopting DMARC and email authentication over the past few years, with more vendors and service providers adding the necessary support to their offerings in order to make that adoption simpler,” said Steven Jones, executive director of DMARC.org. “With new protocols like ARC emerging to address the traditional email use cases that were problematic under some DMARC policies, and the leadership of forward-thinking companies like Google, Microsoft and Yahoo, I expect to see the rate of adoption accelerate globally.”
